Courage Courage of Temptation Perhaps one of the most famous scenes in Joseph’s life is his refusal of Potiphar’s wife’s advances. Day after day, she tried to seduce him. Alone in a foreign land, stripped of status and safety nets, Joseph could have justified giving in. But he didn’t.His response was courageous, not only because he said "no," but because he ran. Genesis 39:12 tells us, “But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside.”This is the kind of courage that honors God over comfort. It’s the kind of courage that risks reputation for righteousness. Joseph teaches us that courage doesn’t always stand still, it flees from sin to stand with God. The Apostle Paul admonishes young Timothy to, “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” (2 Timothy 2:22 KJV)C. Courage to Lead with Integrity When Joseph stood before Pharaoh to interpret his dreams, he did so with bold humility. He didn’t inflate his own abilities. Instead, he declared, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer” (Genesis 41:16). Courage is not just about saying what’s unpopular—it’s about giving God credit when the world expects you to glorify yourself. Joseph led with courage, and God honored it.
